The Western Cordillera is a dazzling landform region. Its characterized by its many mountain ranges separated by plateaus and valleys, charming fijords and huge glaciers. The Western Cordillera is a geologically young landfom region. It was formed by the North American and Pacific tetonic plates colliding, which caused folding, faulting and volcanic activity. Glaciers eroded Some of the rivers and land after the last ice age. This is why many parts of the land are below sea level.
